While we invest heavily in security at our Birkenhead site, customers should still consider how their belongings would be protected if an unexpected incident occurred.

Alliance Storage Birkenhead offers StoreProtect, an enhanced contractual liability arrangement provided through our Storage Agreement and StoreProtect Addendum.

StoreProtect is not an insurance policy sold to you by Alliance Storage. When you choose StoreProtect and declare the full replacement value of your belongings, Alliance agrees to accept a higher limit of liability for qualifying physical loss or damage while your goods are in storage. This remains subject to the terms, conditions, limits and exclusions of the agreement.

Alliance Storage maintains its own Customers’ Goods Liability policy arranged through specialist self storage broker Basil Fry & Company. This supports the contractual liabilities accepted by Alliance under the approved StoreProtect documentation.

It is important to declare the full current replacement value of everything stored in your unit.

This means the cost of replacing the items today with substantially equivalent new items, rather than their second-hand resale value. Declaring too low a value could result in any settlement being reduced.

StoreProtect applies from the time your belongings are placed inside your storage unit until they are removed. It does not ordinarily apply during loading, unloading or transportation carried out by the customer or an independent removals company.

StoreProtect works alongside the physical security measures at our Birkenhead site.

Our Birkenhead facility has a security guard on site 24 hours a day, including overnight, weekends and public holidays. The security team monitors the CCTV system, responds to activity on site and carries out regular patrols.

Security remains our number one priority, but no security system can remove every possible risk. StoreProtect gives customers an additional option for protecting the declared value of their belongings if a qualifying incident occurs.

StoreProtect is not compulsory. We recommend that customers consider how their belongings would be protected, but you can ask us to remove StoreProtect from your booking.

Before declining it, you should carefully consider whether you have suitable alternative protection and understand the standard liability terms that will apply.
